1 lost cluster
ситуация, когда в результате системных ошибок или некоторых действий пользователя (например, выключения машины при незакрытом приложении) происходит "потеря" элементов дисковой памяти, т. е. части файла с данными (см. cluster). При этом, как правило, теряется не отдельный кластер, а цепочка кластеров (см. lost chain). Потерянные кластеры, поскольку ОС о них не знает, оказываются помечены в FAT как занятые, хотя не принадлежат ни одному файлу, и потому уменьшают объём доступной для пользователя памяти.
